Building a global Weather Control System & Collateral Developments


Without a clean interactive "tool" for control of global temperatures, we are relying upon the unstable nature of our environment to continue to mend itself, regardless of our abusive actions; industries like smelting, use of fossil fuels, livestock excretions, rice field soil off-gassing...  In addition to our own actions, history has shown that nature often has global extinction events. There are many natural generators of greenhouse gases; Methane Permafrost, volcanos... While these all have influences on the ocean conveyor circulation systems, rain, drought, temperature & humidity variations ... destroying the sustainability of diverse ecological balances.


If the "methane permafrost" (defined here to include the many different sequestered methane releases that are temperature sensitive)  melts, billions of people may die from reduced global agricultural harvests, aggravated by unstable plant pathogens caused from reduced plant and animal diversity. Currently over 6 million people die of starvation annually; this number will only increase. Those people in positions of influence who do not act now to save those peoples' lives, are directly responsible for their deaths; they now know. The following is intended to be built from synergistic business developments that are strategically spawned by the tactical creation of dynamic cash flow potentials; spawning opportunities and the ability to act on those opportunities with low risk.  Seed-funding from government resources can expedite developments, but the keystone is the business model for generating and sustaining seeded enterprise to provide for a self-funded and sustainable global Weather Control System, that has a large number of additional enterprises generated from its' resources and business models.

Notice the pronounced disconnect that separates business and education, from political efforts and R&D.  For good reasons, there are checks and balances that help to prevent squandering government funding on corrupt misuse.  However, there is no deliberate effort to coordinate the many diverse interests into one collaborative business model.  Each segment is in competition for support, instead of being mutually supportive and growing self-funding businesses that grow and support further future developments.  GROWTH REQUIRES ETHICAL COLLABORATION; a.k.a. common sense.


The following is part of that business model that includes the mutual interests of billions of people.  Not just for those living today, but for 20 generations (500 years) or more of our offspring to come.  Consider introducing cross collaboration with non-competing businesses, with inclusion of long term goals in strategic planning.  Think of your businesses as surviving your own life, and having a corporate life and goals realized in hundreds of years (your legacy).  Many corporations are thousands of years old, your corporation can similarly survive.


Oil Company Revenues - A necessary transition 

Oil is a fixed commodity. The revenue generated by oil can be extended from a 100 year supply to a 1,000 year (or more) supply; if it is used to make products instead of fuel. Of course with reduced production, the price per barrel would increase, but delivery costs are reduced because supertanker ships need not be built. So the cost of plastics, antifreeze, and lubricants would increase due to the restricted supply. Cost per barrel of oil being a balance between shipping cost savings and supply/demand of the products produced using fossil fuel. Regardless, this seems an attractive trade-off for a green economy and less expensive fuel in the form of solar energy. The cost of electric utilities plummet and the cost of hydrogen correspondingly plummets, to provide desirable offsets.  The space-based energy provides for space-based infrastructure development for long-term habitation of space (Planetary Resources, Inc. and the related mining communities). The same solar energy farms in space also provide a global weather control system.    As for comparative costs:
  • How much does it cost to build AND maintain a supertanker? (maintenance paid by government, not oil companies)
  • How much does it cost to continually develop new oil resources?
  • How much does bad press cost?
Additionally, by having the Oil Companies fund a Global Energy System, the free and multimillion year supply of solar energy provides incomes that can not be generated by fossil fuels. For instance, even with oil at $50 a barrel, it was not economically feasible to develop the Northern parts of Canada, the Sahara, or even the US Southwest. The low energy density of oil coupled with shipping costs has made living in remote locations impractical.     Because of the broadly distributed nature of space-based solar collectors, the cost of fuel anyplace in the world is virtually the same. New technology based populations can be developed in the most remote places on Earth. The Earth can easily support 100 billion people if there is sufficient energy resources. So Oil Companies would be selling power to 100 billion people, instead of the current 6.7 billion people. There are other significant sources of related revenue as well.   That's an estimated increase of 15 times the current energy usage; 17 times the current net revenues (more energy users, higher cost per barrel of oil, lower oil infrastructure costs, ...). 


Corporations have no practical life expectancy, they have lived for hundreds of years; and can capitalize upon this ability to engineer future profits far exceeding the short-sighted revenues generated today.


Ecologically Sound Solution


The problems with most solutions proposed for controlling Global Warming are:

  • the expense and the requirement for on-going funding
  • high risk of damage to the environment
  •  ineffective nature of proposal
  • narrow focus of proposal, not allowing for collateral and beneficial enterprise to develop
  • foreseeable health hazards
  • inability to attain multilateral support of all nations


We must initiate a comprehensive process that not only addresses the symptoms of Global Warming, but also addresses the core causes; including those causes that are "naturally" produced. 


Space-based Solar Concentration Facilities 


Establish a space based solar energy collection and conversion system to generate an excess of abundant clean energy for the world. Real Estate is free in space and is unencumbered by political boundaries. This system would minimize (if not eliminate) the need for fossil fuels by using solar energy to generate cheap hydrogen to power fuel cells and engines. Petroleum would be produced for plastics and other products, extending petroleum industry survival for several hundred years. Providing cheap electrical energy to the world allows for hydrogen and water to be extracted locally anywhere on the planet:

Terra-forming Venus and Mars


Venus has a very poisonous sulfuric acid atmosphere high intheir sky; but the chemical composition of lower elevations in the atmosphere may be masked by the upper atmosphere.  Observably there are no trace elements of Oxygen in the atmosphere.  Greater than 90% of the atmosphere is Carbon Dioxide.  The atmospheric pressure near the ground is currently about 90 times the pressure here on Earth.  The atmosphere at certain elevations provides the greatest potential for sustained resources to support diversity of life similar to Earth.  The atmosphere provides a magnetic field to provide protection from ionizing radiation.  Earth-like atmospheres appear to be available high in the atmosphere.   Balloons and perhaps aerogels may be an option for floating self-contained instrumentation and laboratories. Venus however can have its' atmosphere terra-formed from space. And the same technology can provide both active Weather Control for Venus and Earth. The same structures can be used for solar sails to transfer people and resources between the inner planets and provide maintenance transport. All without fossil fuels. However, the risk of landing humans on Venus is complicated by risks that currently cannot be seen to anticipate.  Landing on Mars would not be much more difficult than landing on the Moon.  But Venus provides a sustainable platform to grow a useful and sustainable atmosphere. Mars is not the closest match to Earth within reach, Venus is. Venus is 90% of the mass of Earth and can hold an atmospheric pressure that can support human life after terra-forming the atmosphere.
As cited in this link, Venus may have been Earth-like in vegetation and atmosphere before global warming created the current atmosphere seen on Venus, killing Earth-like life.  Global Warming consequences might be reversed.  However, there may be life on Venus that we have yet to observe.  Terra-forming without forethought could destroy the environment of species already living on Venus.  Perhaps even intelligent life if a civilization was forced to live in subterranean cavities or evolve to live high in the atmosphere. Venus is less dense than Earth for some reason; perhaps caves and structures, but more likely chemical compound distributions are different. The satellite solar shade structures described in these pages provide the resources to terra-form Venus in addition to providing Earth with a global Weather Control System and sustainable energy resource.
The terra-forming of Venus is more attractive than terra-forming Mars because the mass of Mars is too small to hold a significant atmosphere; about 38% as compared to Earth.  The Sun blows the atmosphere continuously out into space.  The gravity on Venus is about 90% of that provided by Earth; enough to hold a breathable atmosphere.  Mars has 38% of the gravity of Earth and will never be able to support the atmospheric pressure needed to sustain human life. The current atmosphere on Mars is like living at 125,000 feet above sea level here on Earth. We will be required to live in pressurized cavern to sustain life. So instead of colonizing Mars why not just live in ventilated caverns here on Earth?
The satellite Sun shades provided within these pages allow for cooling the surface of Venus to condense the poisonous atmosphere, thereby reducing the atmospheric pressure to more closely match Earth's atmospheric pressure.  During the cooling phase, instrumentation packages with chemical catalysts are suspended in the atmosphere to convert atmospheric constituents into oxygen, water, and hydrocarbons that form liquids and media for growing vegetation and sustaining bacteria flora. Thus potentially supporting animal and vegetation life. Ionizing radiation from the Sun is not a concern on Venus on the ground because of the atmosphere and magnetic fields created by the atmosphere.  
The sulfuric acid clouds condense when cooled and are engineered conversion into useful compounds by catalysts during the cooling phase.  The terra-forming most likely will destroy the magnetic field of Venus; so an alternative such as intentionally producing high altitude compounds during the catalyst phase that provides protection from ionizing radiation needs to be incorporated into the pre-planning of terra-forming. Catalysts and energy differentials of the Venus atmosphere can convert the CO2 to oxygen and hydrocarbons. The atmospheres of both Mars and Venus are 97% CO2, but Venus has more atmospheric components than Mars to sustain catalyst based conversions.

Indeed, the current egoists want an easy visible target that has PR appeal, but has no significant return on investment.

An important point here is that the Venus atmosphere must be cooled partially to collapse the atmosphere partially before seeding Venus with additional water.  Otherwise the same process that is currently ionizing water molecules will continue and strip off the hydrogen released from high altitude ionizing radiation from the Sun.

Mars plus 3 Jupiter Moons as an alternative 
Mars however, if joined by the three largest Moons of Jupiter, could one day provide sufficient mass to hold an atmosphere as an additional Earth-like planet to include the terra-forming of Venus.
The entire asteroid field between Jupiter and Mars totals about 1/35th of the mass of our Moon.  The water available on the Jupiter Moons and related combined mass with Mars provides for a sustainable atmosphere.  Depending upon the source of magnetic fields of Jupiter's' Moon Calisto, the magnetic field may provide a mass-enhanced Mars with protection from ionizing radiation.  
The moons of Jupiter may have life because of the volcanic activity seen on those moons, and the potential of water/vapor in subterranean cavities.  But they are not sufficient in size by themselves to have atmospheres on their surfaces.  Life on the Moons of Jupiter would need to be investigated before merging those moons with Mars on a stable Solar orbit.  
Moving the Moons is done by using the solar shade structures described below and nano-tube tether, to cause a resonating movement to dislodge the moons from their gravity well.  Careful detection and planning are done to follow a trajectory around Jupiter toward an course that contributes to a new stable orbit of Mars upon slightly crushing impact with Mars.  The crushing impact exposing the core materials of both Calisto and Mars for mining purposes.  If this process produces highly radioactive elements to be exposed, then an alternate method of merging Calisto with Mars may be prudent.
Calisto's core temperatures combined with the friction of impact will heat the new planetoid which will evolve atmospheric products that need investigation.  Each phase of adding a new moon to Mars is a separate phase:  M0 (Mars initial), M1(first moon collision), M2 (second), M3 (third).  What to call the new planetoid composed of Mars and her three nieces? 
As the gravity increases to near 80% of Earth's gravity, The atmosphere produced is sustainable.
The satellite solar shade/reflectors cited in these pages could potentially stabilize weather and provide power to colonize an otherwise rapidly changing environment of a mass-enhanced Mars.
Most likely, advances in space/time manipulation will eclipse the need for Newtonian based terra-forming techniques.  Self-contained environments become feasible in the most hostile conditions imaginable; or within the vastness of observably empty space.  Terra-forming is then useful for evolving a diversity of life unrelated to human needs  However, in near-term situations involving total extinction of humanity, these are potential alternatives for creating sustainable alternative environments to protect humanity and the many species in our care; i.e. all known life.


Collateral Business Developments 


There are an extremely large number of entrepreneurial opportunities surrounding these enterprises.  The intelligent pathway would be to systematically document entrepreneurial opportunities, and create a "project management" system to match "resources" with "deliverables/enterprise/investors".  Illegal Allocation must be avoided to prevent stifling of enterprise that pays taxes.  Taxes provide a stimulus for steering development to move forward as a national effort.


Use the sale of power to fund the Space Elevator, thus reducing the cost of shipping and transportation to/from orbit to 10% of current costs; thus making access to space available to virtually anyone. A side benefit will be the many start-up industries that capitalize on the mass production of carbon nanotubes.



Vehicle strengths can increase hundreds of times over present vehicles while weighing significantly less. Vehicles can potentially impact at up to 20 mph without any significant damage. Mountain climbing ropes can be reduced in size to the size of a string and be stronger than present ropes; allowing for lighter pack loads and longer ropes. A 1200 pound Harley Davidson motorcycle could be made to weigh less than 200 pounds; while being considerably stronger and more powerful. Commercial airliners could have ballistic parachutes which automatically deploy to save the lives of passengers. Buildings can be produced which can withstand the strongest of earthquakes. Skyscrapers a thousand stories tall. Diamond cable saws capable of cutting up asteroids for mining. Earth boring machine cutting heads that are much stronger, more efficient, lighter, and more versatile. Allowing for subterranean habitat development; here on Earth, the Moon, Mars, large asteroids, and other planets and their moons. A woven sheet of nanotubes and bonding agent would line the caverns to provide air tight living spaces. Orbiting and transiting space habitat structures large enough to hold thousands of inhabitants including their systems for being self-sufficient. Computer and cell phone cases that are virtually indestructible; yet lighter than anything we currently have.

Through a series of technological processes we can quickly transition from a species dependent upon our natural environment, to a species that becomes a responsible part of our environment, and this system provides the means to support the ever growing human populations. While taking an active part in preserving our ecology and ensuring our grandchildren will experience the richly diverse life we presently enjoy; and perhaps a world with greater diversity and wonders not yet imagined.

The second of two people living to be 100 years old would have seen 1976 and a population of over 3,000 million (3 billion) people; a growth of 4.3 times as many people in 2 peoples lifetimes. Presently, there are over 6.7 billion people; the world population has doubled in less than 30 years. We can fully expect there to be at least 35 billion people by 2076. Medicine and food supply technologies improve, people naturally live longer, what will life be like unless we provide a habitat, interesting employment, and business opportunities?



Currently, China uses people with shovels and rakes to process their sewage, because labor is so cheap. What will our grandchild's life be like if we do not push our horizons above that of the Earth?



Within just 50 years, it is expected that between 1/3 and 1/2 of all known species of plants and animals will verge upon extinction due to salt water encroachment of coastal wetlands. How do we plan to help maintain our ecological diversity to provide natural food chain stability? Already, corn and potato crops are documented to be at risk worldwide.


Over 6 million people currently starve annually; it can be shown that almost 30 million people will starve annually by 2076 unless we act diligently in the present.


We must have a comprehensive system that provides for the needs of our small world. Allowing us to have more, not less. Allowing our population to grow; responsibly.
